If your opponent goes first, you can also activate this card from your hand during the Standby Phase of their first turn. Place 1 "Angelechy" Field Spell from your hand, Deck, or GY, face-up on your field, and if you do, Special Summon 1 Level 2 or 7 "Angelechy" monster from your Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone, and if you do that, place 1 "Angelechy" monster from your Extra Deck in your Spell & Trap Zone as a face-up Continuous Spell. Until the end of your next turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon from the Extra Deck, except Synchro Monsters.

Explained

What it does

Place an "Angelechy" Field Spell from your hand, Deck or GY, then Special Summon a Level 2 or 7 "Angelechy" monster from your Extra Deck and place another as a Continuous Spell. If your opponent goes first, you can activate it from your hand in their first Standby Phase.

Play it when

In Angelechy decks to set up the Field Spell and two Extra Deck monsters at once, including on your opponent's first turn when you're going second.

Common mistakes
  • Forgetting the restriction: until the end of your next turn, you can only Special Summon Synchro Monsters from the Extra Deck.
  • Trying the hand activation at any other time. It only works in the Standby Phase of your opponent's first turn, when they went first.

How it works

Angelechy Opening to e4 is a Normal Trap. When it resolves:

  1. Place 1 “Angelechy” Field Spell face-up on your field from your hand, Deck or GY.
  2. If you do, Special Summon 1 Level 2 or 7 “Angelechy” monster from your Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone.
  3. If you do that, place 1 “Angelechy” monster from your Extra Deck in your Spell & Trap Zone as a face-up Continuous Spell.

Afterward, until the end of your next turn, you can’t Special Summon from the Extra Deck except Synchro Monsters.

Hand activation: If your opponent goes first, you can activate it from your hand during the Standby Phase of their first turn.

When to use it

Each step depends on the one before, so you need an Angelechy Field Spell available and the right Extra Deck monsters. The hand activation lets an Angelechy player set up during their opponent’s first turn instead of waiting to Set it.
