Common mistakes
- Thinking face-down Special Summons get around it. They don't.
Status: Forbidden in the TCG (Sept 21, 2026 list), so it can’t be used in Advanced Format.
How it works
Continuous: No monsters can be Special Summoned, except EARTH monsters. This applies to both players.
Rulings in plain English
Face-down summons: Effects that Special Summon in face-down Defense Position are still limited to EARTH monsters.
Stacked with another Barrier Statue: If this and another card that only allows a different Attribute both apply, neither player can Special Summon any monsters.
