What it does
Target 1 face-up monster on the field and change it to face-down Defense Position.
Play it when
To stop a monster mid-combo, protect your own monster from targeting, or reset a monster's effects.
Common mistakes
- Targeting a Link Monster or a Token. You can't.
- Using it in the Damage Step.
How it works
Book of Moon is a Quick-Play Spell: target 1 face-up monster on the field and change it to face-down Defense Position.
When to use it
Flipping a monster face-down turns off its effects while face-down and makes it unusable as material for many summons that need face-up monsters. It’s been around since 2003 and still has flexible uses on either turn.
