To take a monster for material, an attack, or its effect for one turn.
- Targeting an Extra Deck monster, Ritual Monster or Token. They can't be Normal Summoned, so they're not valid.
- Activating it with no free Main Monster Zone.
How it works
Brain Control is a Normal Spell. Pay 800 LP, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls that can be Normal Summoned/Set. Take control of it until the End Phase.
When to use it
Borrowed monsters can be used as material for your own Link, Xyz or other summons, which means your opponent doesn’t get them back.
Rulings in plain English
Needs: A free Main Monster Zone on your side.
Valid targets: Monsters that can be Normal Summoned, even if they were Special Summoned. Not Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Link Monsters, Tokens, or Spells/Traps summoned as monsters.
Returning: No chain; your opponent chooses the zone.
