1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters Your monsters with 2000 or less ATK cannot be destroyed by battle. You can only use each of the following effects of "Centur-Ion Legatia" once per turn. If this card is Special Summoned: You can draw 1 card, then you can destroy the monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied). During the End Phase: You can place 1 non-Synchro "Centur-Ion" monster from your hand or GY in your Spell & Trap Zone as a face-up Continuous Trap.

Explained

What it does

A Level 12 Synchro. When Special Summoned, draw 1 card, then you can destroy your opponent's highest-ATK monster. Your monsters with 2000 or less ATK can't be destroyed by battle. In the End Phase, it places a non-Synchro "Centur-Ion" monster from your hand or GY in your Spell & Trap Zone as a Continuous Trap.

Play it when

In Centur-Ion decks as a big Synchro that replaces itself with a card, removes a threat, and sets up a Centur-Ion monster as a Trap for later.

Common mistakes
  • Expecting to destroy without drawing first. The destroy only happens if the draw succeeds.
  • Thinking the draw and destroy are simultaneous. They aren't.

How it works

Materials: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters.

  • Continuous: Your monsters with 2000 or less ATK can’t be destroyed by battle.
  • When Special Summoned: Draw 1 card, then you can destroy the monster your opponent controls with the highest ATK (you choose if tied).
  • End Phase: Place 1 non-Synchro “Centur-Ion” monster from your hand or GY in your Spell & Trap Zone as a face-up Continuous Trap.

Each of the last two effects is once per turn.

When to use it

Legatia gives a Centur-Ion deck card advantage, removal and a battle wall for its smaller monsters. The End Phase effect lines up a Centur-Ion monster as a Continuous Trap, which Centur-Ion cards can use later.

Rulings in plain English

Can the summon effect be used in the Damage Step? Yes.

What order do things happen in? Draw first. If you drew, you can then destroy the highest-ATK monster. They don’t happen at the same time.
