What it does
Target 1 face-up Spell, or 1 Set Spell/Trap. If it's a Spell, destroy it. If it's Set, reveal it first.
Play it when
As Spell removal and to check what a Set card is.
Common mistakes
- Expecting it to destroy a Set Trap. It's revealed and stays.
How it works
De-Spell is a Normal Spell. Target 1 face-up Spell, or 1 Set Spell/Trap, on the field; destroy it if it’s a Spell. If the target is Set, reveal it.
Rulings in plain English
Set targets: It’s revealed on resolution. A Spell is destroyed; a Trap is turned back face-down and not destroyed.
Monsters treated as Spells: It can destroy Pendulum Monsters in the Pendulum Zone or Union monsters equipped to a monster.
