Explained
A Continuous Spell. If you control at least 1 monster, your opponent can't place monsters on their field if that would give them more than you have. Monsters already on the field when it's activated stay.
It can't be used in Advanced Format. It's Forbidden in the TCG.
- Expecting it to work with no monsters on your field. It doesn't restrict anything then.
Status: Forbidden in the TCG (Sept 21, 2026 list), so it can’t be used in Advanced Format.
How it works
Kaiser Colosseum is a Continuous Spell. If you control 1 or more monsters, your opponent can’t place a monster on their field if their monster count would exceed yours. Cards already on the field before it’s activated are unaffected.
Rulings in plain English
What it stops: Only your opponent placing monsters on their own side. You placing monsters, your opponent placing monsters on your side, and control changes aren’t restricted. It never destroys or sends monsters already there.
Locked out: Your opponent can’t make a Normal or Special Summon that would go over your count, or activate effects that would do that. Their temporarily banished monsters that can’t return go to the GY instead.
Not activated: The restriction applies without a chain while it’s in the Spell & Trap Zone.
