Explained

What it does

Neither it nor the monster it battles can be destroyed by that battle. Tribute it to Special Summon a monster that mentions "Chimera Fusion" from your Deck. While you control "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast", banish it from field or GY to negate an opponent's monster effect.

Play it when

In Chimera decks to extend and protect your boss.

Common mistakes
  • Using the negate without "Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast" on your field.
  • Using the Quick Effects in the Damage Step.

How it works

  • Continuous: If this card battles a monster, neither can be destroyed by that battle.
  • Quick Effect: Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 monster from your Deck that mentions “Chimera Fusion”, except “Mirror Swordknight”.
  • Quick Effect (field or GY): When a monster your opponent controls activates its effect, while you control “Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast”, banish this card; negate that effect.

The two Quick Effects are each once per turn, and neither works in the Damage Step.

Rulings in plain English

“Mentions”: Means the monster’s text names “Chimera Fusion” as a card name.
