As a defender in DARK decks that replaces itself with another monster from the Deck.
- Expecting it to work when destroyed by a card effect. Only battle counts.
How it works
When Mystic Tomato is destroyed by battle and sent to the GY, you can Special Summon 1 DARK monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck in face-up Attack Position.
When to use it
It’s a 2002-era recruiter that turns losing a battle into a new monster. Many DARK monsters have low ATK, so it has targets in many decks.
Rulings in plain English
When does it activate? At the end of the Damage Step in which it was destroyed by battle.
What if my opponent controlled it? If it’s destroyed on their side and goes to your GY, you can still use it.
