Explained

What it does

A Fusion of 1 Fusion Monster + 1 DARK monster. Once per turn, it places a Predator Counter on an opponent's face-up monster, making it Level 1. Your opponent's monsters with Predator Counters have their activated effects negated.

Play it when

In Predaplant and other Fusion decks as a boss that shuts off your opponent's best monster and keeps it shut off.

Common mistakes
  • Expecting it to stop Continuous Effects. It only negates effects that activate.
  • Using the counter effect in the Damage Step.

How it works

Materials: 1 Fusion Monster + 1 DARK monster.

  • Quick Effect (once per turn): Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and place 1 Predator Counter on it. If it’s Level 2 or higher, it becomes Level 1 while it has a Predator Counter.
  • Continuous: Negate the activated effects of your opponent’s monsters that have Predator Counters.

When to use it

Putting a counter on a monster negates any effect it activates for as long as Dragostapelia is around, not just for one turn.

Rulings in plain English

Counter effect: Only if the target is still face-up at resolution. Not in the Damage Step.

What’s negated? Monster effects your opponent activates with a chain link, if the monster has a counter when the effect resolves. Effects that don’t start a chain aren’t negated.

What if the monster left the field before resolving? Its counter is gone, so its effect isn’t negated by this.
