Explained
A Rank 12 Xyz. If your opponent Special Summoned 2 or more monsters from the Extra Deck this turn or last turn, you can Xyz Summon it using only your highest-ATK monster. While on the field, neither player can activate effects of monsters with 3000 or more ATK, and it can bounce a monster once per turn.
Going second against a big board, if your opponent summoned twice from the Extra Deck, to shut off their 3000+ ATK monsters and return a monster to the hand.
- Using it with a Token as your highest-ATK monster. You can't.
- Forgetting you can't Normal or Special Summon for the rest of the turn after using the special method.
- Forgetting the lock affects your own 3000+ ATK monsters too.
How it works
Materials: 2 Level 12 monsters.
Alternative summon: During the turn, or the turn after, your opponent Special Summoned 2 or more monsters from the Extra Deck, you can Xyz Summon it using 1 monster you control with the highest ATK (your choice if tied), transferring that monster’s materials. If you do, you can’t Normal or Special Summon for the rest of the turn.
- Continuous: While this Xyz Summoned monster is on the field, neither player can activate the effects of monsters with 3000 or more ATK.
- Once per turn: Detach 1 material to return 1 monster from the field to the hand.
When to use it
Most competitive decks summon from the Extra Deck often, so the alternative summon condition is frequently met. It turns one monster into a lock on big monsters plus a bounce.
Rulings in plain English
Is the alternative method a proper Xyz Summon? Yes. It’s usually done in your Main Phase.
What if my highest-ATK monster has 0 ATK? You can still use it. If it’s a Token, you can’t use this method at all, even with another monster.
Can I use it after already summoning this turn? Yes; the summon restriction applies afterward.
Does the lock stop unaffected monsters? Yes. It stops activation, so even monsters unaffected by effects can’t activate if they have 3000+ ATK.
