Agido the Ancient Sentinel

Effect Monster

Card text

If a card(s) is sent from the hand or Deck to your opponent's GY (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon this card from your hand, then you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 EARTH Fairy monster from your GY, except "Agido the Ancient Sentinel". If this card is sent from the hand or Deck to the GY: You can activate this effect; each player sends the top 5 cards of their Deck to the GY (or their entire Deck, if less than 5), then, if "Exchange of the Spirit" is in your GY, you can send 5 more cards from the top of either player's Deck to the GY. You can only use each effect of "Agido the Ancient Sentinel" once per turn.

Archetype: Exchange of the Spirit

Explained

What it does

A Level 4 EARTH Fairy. When cards are sent from the hand or Deck to your opponent's GY, summon it from your hand and revive a Level 4 EARTH Fairy. When it's sent from the hand or Deck to the GY, each player mills 5, plus 5 more with "Exchange of the Spirit" in your GY.

Play it when

It can't be used in Advanced Format; it's Forbidden in the TCG.

Common mistakes
  • Activating the mill effect when a player has fewer than 5 cards in their Deck. Both need 5 or more.

How it works

Status: Forbidden in the TCG (Sept 21, 2026 list), so it can’t be used in Advanced Format.

  • If cards are sent from the hand or Deck to your opponent’s GY (not in the Damage Step): Special Summon this card from your hand, then you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 EARTH Fairy monster from your GY, except “Agido the Ancient Sentinel”.
  • If this card is sent from the hand or Deck to the GY: Each player sends the top 5 cards of their Deck to the GY (or their whole Deck, if less than 5). Then, if “Exchange of the Spirit” is in your GY, you can send 5 more from the top of either player’s Deck.

Each effect is once per turn.

Rulings in plain English

Mill effect: Activates from the GY, and can be used in the Damage Step. Both players need 5+ cards in their Deck to activate it. If a Deck has 4 or fewer at resolution, that player sends all of it.

Extra 5: Comes after the first mill, not at the same time, and only from a Deck that still has 5 or more cards.

Exchange of the Spirit, Kelbek the Ancient Vanguard, Mudora the Sword Oracle.
