"Fallen of Albaz" + 1 LIGHT monster If this card is Fusion Summoned: You can Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, except "Albion the Branded Dragon", by banishing Fusion Materials mentioned on it from your hand, field, and/or GY. During the End Phase, if this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn: You can add to your hand or Set 1 "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck. You can only use each effect of "Albion the Branded Dragon" once per turn.

Explained

What it does

When Fusion Summoned, it Fusion Summons a Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster by banishing the materials from your hand, field or GY. If it was sent to the GY this turn, in the End Phase it adds or Sets a "Branded" Spell/Trap from your Deck.

Play it when

In Branded decks as a key Fusion: it makes another Fusion Monster right away, and gets you a Branded card when it goes to the GY.

Common mistakes
  • Trying to Fusion Summon another Albion with its effect. You can't, though Albion itself can be a material.
  • Expecting the End Phase search if it left the GY before the End Phase. It must stay there.

How it works

Materials: “Fallen of Albaz” + 1 LIGHT monster.

  • When Fusion Summoned: Fusion Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, except “Albion the Branded Dragon”, by banishing its Fusion Materials from your hand, field and/or GY.
  • In the End Phase: If this card is in the GY because it was sent there this turn, add to your hand or Set 1 “Branded” Spell/Trap from your Deck.

Each effect is once per turn.

When to use it

Albion is a centerpiece of Branded decks: one Fusion Summon turns into two Fusion Monsters, and using the GY as a material source means you can banish cards that are already used. When Albion itself goes to the GY, it pays you back with a Branded Spell or Trap.

Rulings in plain English

Does the Fusion effect target? No. It’s a Trigger Effect on the field.

Are banishing the materials and the summon simultaneous? No; materials first, then the summon.

Can Albion be one of the materials? Yes, but you can’t summon another Albion.

When can the End Phase effect be used? If Albion was sent to the GY this turn and stayed there until the End Phase. If it’s sent there during the End Phase, you can use it that End Phase.
