Explained
A Ritual Monster for "Mitsurugi Ritual". When Special Summoned, it destroys all monsters your opponent controls. When your opponent activates something, they must discard a card or have it negated. When Tributed, it searches a Mitsurugi card and can Special Summon itself.
In Mitsurugi decks as the boss: a board wipe on summon, disruption on your opponent's turn, and value when Tributed.
- Expecting the negate to stop a monster unaffected by monster effects if your opponent doesn't discard. It doesn't.
- Expecting it to revive itself if it wasn't properly summoned first.
How it works
You can Ritual Summon it with “Mitsurugi Ritual”. Each effect is once per turn.
- When Special Summoned: Destroy all monsters your opponent controls.
- Quick Effect: When your opponent activates a card or effect, your opponent can discard 1 card, or that effect is negated.
- When Tributed: Add 1 “Mitsurugi” card from your Deck to your hand, except this card, then you can Special Summon this card.
When to use it
Mitsurugi cards Tribute Reptiles often, so this boss keeps coming back. Its Quick Effect makes your opponent pay a card or lose an effect.
Rulings in plain English
Wipe: Usable in the Damage Step.
Tax effect: Can be used even if your opponent has no cards in hand. Not in the Damage Step.
Tributed effect: Usable from wherever it lands. Search first; if it worked and this card was properly summoned before and is still there, you can summon it. Not simultaneous.
