Explained
Banish it from your hand to add an "Ars Magna" Spell/Trap from your Deck and protect each Power Patron Link Monster from battle destruction up to 3 times until the end of next turn. While banished, it summons itself when an Xyz or Link Monster is summoned. On the field, it banishes Spells/Traps up to the number of your Power Patron Link Monsters.
In Ars Magna and Power Patron decks to search, come back when you make an Xyz or Link, and clear Spells/Traps.
- Using the summon effect in the Damage Step.
- Targeting more Spells/Traps than you have Power Patron Link Monsters.
How it works
- From the hand: Banish this card to add 1 “Ars Magna” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. Until the end of the next turn, the first three times each “Power Patron” Link Monster you control would be destroyed by battle, it isn’t.
- While banished: If an Xyz or Link Monster is Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step), Special Summon this card.
- On the field: Target Spells/Traps on the field, up to the number of “Power Patron” Link Monsters you control, and banish them.
Each effect is once per turn.
When to use it
It mirrors Ars Magna the Finite and the Infinite: search from the hand, return when you make an Extra Deck monster, then remove cards.
Rulings in plain English
Does the battle protection apply if the search fails? Yes, unless negated, and it also covers Power Patron Link Monsters that appear later.
Summon effect: A Trigger Effect while banished. Not in the Damage Step.
