Explained

What it does

Banish it from your hand to add a non-Warrior "Ars Magna" monster from your Deck and triple the original ATK of your Power Patron Link Monsters for the turn. While banished, it Special Summons itself when a Fusion or Link Monster is summoned. With a Power Patron Link Monster, it banishes a monster.

Play it when

In Ars Magna and Power Patron decks: search from the hand, return to the field when you make a Fusion or Link Monster, then remove a monster.

Common mistakes
  • Using the summon effect during the Damage Step.
  • Forgetting the banish effect needs a Power Patron Link Monster on your field.

How it works

  • From the hand: Banish this card to add 1 non-Warrior “Ars Magna” monster from your Deck to your hand. For the rest of the turn, the original ATK of all “Power Patron” Link Monsters you control is tripled.
  • While banished: If a Fusion or Link Monster is Special Summoned (except during the Damage Step), Special Summon this card.
  • On the field: If you control a “Power Patron” Link Monster, target 1 monster on the field and banish it.

Each effect is once per turn.

When to use it

All three effects can be used in one turn: search, come back when you make a Fusion or Link, then banish a monster.

Rulings in plain English

Does the ATK tripling still apply if the search fails? Yes, as long as the effect wasn’t negated. It also applies to Power Patron Link Monsters that appear later that turn.

What kind of effect is the summon? A Trigger Effect that activates while banished. It can’t be used in the Damage Step.

Other Ars Magna cards: Ars Magna the Corruption and the Purification, Ars Magna “Citrinitas”.
