Explained

What it does

A Level 9 Synchro. Neither player can Special Summon 2 or more monsters at the same time. Once per turn, negate the activation of an effect in the GY. It can Tribute itself to Special Summon a LIGHT Dragon Synchro from the Extra Deck, destroyed in the End Phase.

Play it when

In Blue-Eyes decks as a disruptive Synchro and a bridge to other LIGHT Dragon Synchros.

Common mistakes
  • Using the Tribute effect after reviving it from the GY. It must have been Synchro Summoned.

How it works

Materials: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner “Blue-Eyes” monsters.

  • Continuous: Neither player can Special Summon 2 or more monsters at the same time.
  • Quick Effect (once per turn): When an effect of a card in the GY is activated, negate the activation. Works in the Damage Step.
  • Quick Effect: Tribute this Synchro Summoned card; Special Summon 1 LIGHT Dragon Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in Defense Position, except “Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon”, but destroy it during the End Phase. Not in the Damage Step.

Rulings in plain English

Negate: Chains directly to the GY effect activation.

Tribute effect: Still works if it was flipped face-down and back, or briefly banished and returned. It doesn’t work if it was Special Summoned from the GY or banishment.

It’s a “Blue-Eyes” monster.

Sage with Eyes of Blue, Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
