Explained
When your opponent Summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK, destroy and banish it.
Against strong monsters right as they're summoned, especially ones that would come back from the GY.
- Missing the timing. It only works right after the summon, not if something else happened first.
- Using it on a monster Set face-down. It needs a face-up summon.
How it works
Bottomless Trap Hole is a Normal Trap. When your opponent Summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK, destroy that monster, and if you do, banish it.
When to use it
Banishing instead of sending to the GY stops many recursion plays. It answers most monsters worth summoning, since few key monsters have under 1500 ATK.
Rulings in plain English
When exactly? Immediately after your opponent Normal Summons, Flip Summons or face-up Special Summons a monster with 1500+ ATK. If the summon happened mid-chain or something else happened after it, you missed the window.
Multiple monsters at once? If at least one qualifies, you can activate it, and all qualifying monsters your opponent summoned are destroyed and banished.
At resolution: The monster must still be face-up with 1500+ ATK.
Damage Step? No.
