- Normal
Explained
What it does
When a monster is Summoned, destroy all monsters on the field.
Play it when
As a board wipe on your opponent's turn, right after they summon, when they have more on the field than you.
Common mistakes
- Forgetting it destroys your monsters too.
- Activating it after a Normal Set. A Set isn't a Summon.
- Missing the timing if something else happened after the summon.
How it works
Torrential Tribute is a Normal Trap. When a monster is Summoned, destroy all monsters on the field.
When to use it
It’s a one-card board wipe triggered by any summon, from either player. It’s best when your opponent has committed several monsters and you have few.
Rulings in plain English
When exactly? Immediately after a Normal Summon, Flip Summon or Special Summon. Not if the summon happened at Chain Link 2+ with other things resolving after.
Normal Set? Doesn’t count. A monster Special Summoned face-down does.
Damage Step? No.
