Explained
When Normal or Special Summoned, add or Special Summon a "Power Patron" monster from your Deck. From the GY, shuffle a monster from your hand or face-up field into the Deck to Special Summon it (banished when it leaves).
In Power Patron decks as a starter: it finds a Power Patron monster on summon and can return later from the GY.
- Shuffling a Token to revive it. The Token disappears, so Medius isn't summoned.
- Choosing a Monster Card in your Spell & Trap Zone for the revive. It must come from your Monster Zone or hand.
How it works
- When Normal or Special Summoned: Add to your hand, or Special Summon, 1 “Power Patron” monster from your Deck.
- From the GY: Shuffle 1 monster from your hand or face-up field into the Deck, and if you do, Special Summon this card. Banish it when it leaves the field.
Each effect is once per turn.
When to use it
Medius is a one-card start for Power Patron decks: summon it and get a Power Patron monster right away. Its GY effect lets you trade an unneeded monster for another body later.
Rulings in plain English
Can the first effect be used in the Damage Step? Yes.
Revive effect: It’s an Ignition Effect in the GY. Shuffling the monster and the summon count as simultaneous. A card from your hand is revealed to your opponent first. If you pick a Token, it vanishes and Medius isn’t summoned.
When does the banish clause stop? If Medius stops being face-up in the Monster Zone, it no longer gets banished when leaving.
