Explained
A Pendulum Monster you Special Summon from the Extra Deck or GY by returning 1 Fusion, 1 Synchro and 1 Xyz Monster from your field or GY to the Extra Deck. On summon it banishes every card in both GYs face-down, and it's unaffected by monster effects except Power Patron monsters'.
In Power Patron decks that can put a Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Monster on the field or in the GY, as a 5000-ATK boss that also wipes both Graveyards.
- Trying to revive it with another card. It can only be Special Summoned by its own procedure.
- Forgetting its summon effect is mandatory and also banishes your own Graveyard.
How it works
Summoning: It can’t be Normal Summoned or Set. Special Summon it from your Extra Deck or GY by returning 3 monsters to the Extra Deck from your face-up field and/or GY: 1 Fusion, 1 Synchro and 1 Xyz.
Monster effects:
- Unaffected by monster effects, except those of “Power Patron” monsters.
- If it’s added to your Extra Deck face-up, add 1 “Power Patron” card from your Deck to your hand (once per turn).
- If it’s Special Summoned, banish all cards in both GYs face-down. This is mandatory.
Pendulum effect (once per turn), choose one:
- Destroy this card, and if you do, Special Summon 1 “Power Patron” monster from your hand or GY.
- Destroy this card; for the rest of the turn, your Power Patron monsters with an original Level of 12 gain 5000 ATK.
When to use it
Vidolium rewards decks that use all three Extra Deck summon types. Destroying it from the Pendulum Zone sends it face-up to the Extra Deck, which can trigger its search.
Rulings in plain English
Does its summon start a chain? No. It’s a summoning procedure, not an effect. You return the three monsters first, then summon.
Do the returned monsters count as returned by an effect? No.
Can it be summoned any other way? No, even after it’s been summoned properly once.
Can the search be used in the Damage Step? Yes. The banish effect also activates in the Damage Step if it’s summoned then.
