When your opponent activates a card or effect: Tribute 1 Level 5 or higher Reptile monster; negate that effect, and if you do, destroy that card. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Reptile monster in your GY; Special Summon it, and if you do, Tribute 1 other monster you control. You can only use 1 "Mitsurugi Great Purification" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Explained
When your opponent activates a card or effect, Tribute 1 Level 5 or higher Reptile; negate that effect and destroy the card. From the GY, banish it to revive a Reptile, then Tribute 1 other monster you control.
In Mitsurugi decks as a negate that also feeds Tribute effects.
- Using both effects in one turn. Only 1 effect per turn.
How it works

Rulings in plain English
Negate: Chain directly to the Spell, Trap or monster effect. The Tribute is a cost; a face-down Level 5+ Reptile works.
GY effect: You need a monster you can Tribute to activate it. The summon and Tribute count as simultaneous.
