What it does

Target 1 monster in either GY and Special Summon it to your field.

Play it when

To bring back your best monster, or take a strong monster from your opponent's Graveyard.

Common mistakes
  • Summoning a Link Monster in Defense Position. Link Monsters always come back in Attack Position.
  • Playing more than one. It's Limited as of October 2026.

How it works

Monster Reborn is a Normal Spell: target 1 monster in either GY and Special Summon it.

When to use it

One of the original cards from 2002, it’s still useful because it can take any monster from either Graveyard. It’s Limited in the TCG as of October 2026.

Rulings in plain English

Whose field does it go to? Yours, even if it came from your opponent’s GY.

What position? Your choice of Attack or face-up Defense, except Link Monsters, which must be in Attack Position.

Called by the Grave can stop your opponent’s Graveyard monsters.
