Explained

What it does

When a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card on the field, Tribute this card to negate the activation and destroy it. In the End Phase, if that effect was used this turn, Special Summon it from the GY.

Play it when

As protection against destruction effects, since it comes back at the end of the turn.

Common mistakes
  • Using it against removal that doesn't destroy, like banishing or returning to the hand.
  • Expecting it back if its negate effect was negated.

How it works

Materials: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters.

  • Quick Effect: When a card or effect is activated that would destroy a card on the field, Tribute this card to negate the activation and destroy that card.
  • End Phase (from the GY): If this effect was activated this turn and wasn’t negated, Special Summon this card from your GY.

When to use it

Stardust Dragon is the signature card of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s, first released in the TCG in 2008. It protects your whole field against destruction effects and returns at the end of the turn.

Rulings in plain English

What does it chain to? Directly to the activation of a Spell, Trap or monster effect that destroys cards on the field. It can be used in the Damage Step.

Can it come back if I used it in the End Phase? Yes, that same End Phase.
