Explained
Target "Dark Magician" or "Dark Magician Girl" in your field or GY, and Fusion Summon a Fusion Monster that lists it as material by shuffling only that monster into the Deck (treated as a Fusion Summon with "The Eye of Timaeus"). The Fusion Monster is banished in the End Phase of the next turn.
In Dark Magician decks, as a Quick-Play way to make a Fusion from a single Dark Magician or Dark Magician Girl.
- Forgetting the Fusion Monster gets banished during the End Phase of the next turn.
- Using it in the Damage Step.
How it works
The Gaze of Timaeus is a Quick-Play Spell. Target 1 “Dark Magician” or “Dark Magician Girl” in your field or GY. Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck that mentions that monster as material, by shuffling it into the Deck as the only material. This counts as a Fusion Summon with “The Eye of Timaeus”. The Fusion Monster is banished during the End Phase of the next turn. You can only activate 1 per turn.
When to use it
One Dark Magician becomes a Fusion Monster on either player’s turn, and because it can use the GY, a Dark Magician that’s already been used still has value.
Rulings in plain English
Which Fusion Monsters? Ones whose materials name the monster you shuffle back.
Material and summon: Not simultaneous. If the material goes somewhere other than the Deck, the summon still happens if it left the field or GY.
When does the banish clause end? If the Fusion Monster stops being face-up in the Monster Zone.
Damage Step? No.
