Trevor Parker of Richmond, Virginia won the Advanced Main Event at YCS Houston, beating Blake Funderburke in the finals. His winning deck was Dark Magician, built around Light and Darkness Ritual.
Parker takes home an Ultra Rare Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning YCS prize card, a trophy, and the rest of the champion’s prize package.
Dark Magician spent most of the weekend outside the spotlight — Elfnote and Angelechy dominated the top tables through Swiss — but it was the deck holding the trophy at the end. The new October 19 Forbidden & Limited List, which hits both Elfnote Tinia and Azamina Ilia Silvia among others, will reshape the format before the next big event.
