If this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish it. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can make this card gain 1500 ATK, and if you do, it can make a second attack in a row.

Explained

What it does

A Level 8 Ritual Monster summoned with "Light and Darkness Ritual". It's unaffected by your opponent's activated effects unless they target it, can't be destroyed by battle, banishes a card when Special Summoned, and gains 1500 ATK to attack again after destroying a monster.

Play it when

In Light and Darkness Ritual decks as an aggressive Ritual boss that removes a card and can attack twice.

Common mistakes
  • Expecting a second attack if it already attacked more than once this Battle Phase. It gains the ATK but can't attack again.
  • Using the second-attack effect when both monsters were destroyed.

How it works

You can Ritual Summon it with “Light and Darkness Ritual”.

  • Continuous: Unaffected by your opponent’s activated effects unless they target it, and can’t be destroyed by battle.
  • When Special Summoned: Target 1 card your opponent controls and banish it.
  • When it destroys an opponent’s monster by battle: It gains 1500 ATK and can make a second attack in a row.

Each of the last two effects is once per turn.

When to use it

It removes a card as soon as it lands, survives battle, and can push through two attacks.

Rulings in plain English

Banish effect: Usable in the Damage Step.

Protection: Effects your opponent activates that don’t target it don’t apply to it.

Second attack: Activates at the end of the Damage Step after it destroys a monster by battle. Not if both monsters were destroyed, or if it left the field. If it’s already attacked more than once this Battle Phase, it still gains 1500 ATK but can’t attack again.
