Explained
A Ritual Monster for "Chaos Form". Reveal it from your hand to add "Dark Magician" or a non-Ritual monster that mentions it, then put a card from your hand on top of the Deck. On the field, when your opponent activates a monster effect, return it to the hand to summon Dark Magician from the GY and negate that effect.
In Dark Magician decks as a search from the hand, and as protection on the field.
- Using the negate without a Dark Magician in your GY.
- Forgetting you put a card from your hand on top of your Deck after searching.
How it works
You can Ritual Summon it with “Chaos Form”.
- Reveal (from hand): Add 1 “Dark Magician”, or 1 non-Ritual monster that mentions it, from your Deck to your hand, then place 1 card from your hand on top of the Deck.
- Quick Effect (on the field): When your opponent activates a monster effect, return this card to the hand, and if you do, Special Summon 1 “Dark Magician” from your GY, and if you do that, negate that effect.
Each effect is once per turn.
When to use it
Its search works from the hand without summoning it. On the field, it trades itself for Dark Magician while stopping your opponent.
Rulings in plain English
Reveal: Revealing is the cost. Search first, then put a card back on top; not simultaneous.
Negate: Needs Dark Magician in your GY, chained directly to your opponent’s monster effect. Returning, summoning and negating are all simultaneous. Not in the Damage Step.
