Explained
When Normal or Special Summoned, or Tributed, add a "Mitsurugi" Spell/Trap from your Deck. If another Reptile you control would be destroyed, Tribute this card instead.
In Mitsurugi decks to find Mitsurugi Ritual or Mitsurugi Prayers, then protect a Ritual Monster later.
- Using its protection when Saji is also being destroyed at the same time.
How it works
- When Normal or Special Summoned, or Tributed: Add 1 “Mitsurugi” Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand.
- Replacement: If another Reptile monster you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can Tribute this card instead.
Each effect is once per turn.
When to use it
It’s the Spell/Trap-searching twin of Mitsurugi no Mikoto, Aramasa. Tributing it for protection also triggers its search.
Rulings in plain English
Same as Aramasa: the search works from wherever it lands after being Tributed, including in the Damage Step. The replacement doesn’t start a chain, can cover several Reptiles destroyed at once, but not if Saji is destroyed too.
