Explained

What it does

During the Main Phase, after your opponent has Normal or Special Summoned 5 or more monsters this turn: Tribute as many face-up monsters on the field as possible, Special Summon Nibiru from your hand, then give your opponent a Primal Being Token.

Play it when

Against decks that summon many monsters in one turn, after the fifth summon but before your opponent finishes building their board.

Common mistakes
  • Using it before your opponent has summoned 5 monsters that turn.
  • Forgetting it Tributes your own face-up monsters too.
  • Forgetting your opponent gets a token with the combined ATK/DEF of what was Tributed.

How it works

During the Main Phase, if your opponent has Normal or Special Summoned 5 or more monsters this turn, Nibiru’s Quick Effect activates from your hand:

  1. Tribute as many face-up monsters on the field as possible (both sides).
  2. Special Summon Nibiru from your hand.
  3. Special Summon a “Primal Being Token” (Rock/LIGHT/Level 11) to your opponent’s field. Its ATK and DEF equal the combined original ATK and DEF of the Tributed monsters.

Once per turn.

When to use it

Nibiru punishes long combos. Use it after the fifth summon, at a point where your opponent has committed resources but hasn’t yet finished their final board. Like other hand-activated cards, it’s a way to interact on your opponent’s first turn.

Rulings in plain English

Does it target? No.

What does the token’s ATK/DEF count? The printed ATK/DEF of the Tributed cards. Monsters with 0 or “?” printed add nothing.

Is it all simultaneous? The Tributing and Nibiru’s summon happen together. The token is summoned after, separately.

When is the token’s ATK/DEF set? As the token is summoned, which is the end of the effect.

Other cards that punish lots of summons: Mulcharmy Fuwalos and Dominus Impulse.
