Explained
A Level 8 Ashtra Synchro. When Special Summoned, send an "Ashtra" card from your Deck to the GY, and if you do, send 1 card on the field to the GY. After your opponent activates a monster effect, it Sets an Ashtra Trap from your GY or banishment, or any Trap from your GY if 3+ cards are face-down.
In Ashtra decks as removal on summon and a way to keep reusing Traps.
- Using the Set effect in the Damage Step.
How it works
Materials: 1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuners.
- When Special Summoned (once per turn): Send 1 “Ashtra” card from your Deck to the GY, and if you do, send 1 card on the field to the GY.
- After your opponent activates a monster effect (except during the Damage Step): Target 1 “Ashtra” Trap in your GY or banishment, or, if 3 or more cards are face-down on the field, any 1 Trap in your GY instead. Set it.
When to use it
Sending to the GY gets past destruction protection. The Set effect keeps your Traps coming back, and Ashtra cards that flip monsters face-down, like Akasuna the Battle Ashtra, help reach the 3 face-down cards.
Rulings in plain English
First effect: Usable in the Damage Step. Both sends count as simultaneous.
Second effect: Activates after the whole chain with your opponent’s monster effect resolves, while this card is face-up. Count face-down cards on both fields when you activate.
