Explained
After your opponent adds a card from their Main Deck to their hand outside the Draw Phase, send it from your hand to the GY: for the rest of the turn, neither player can add cards from the Main Deck to the hand.
After your opponent's first search when their deck needs several searches to finish its turn. It can't stop the first search, but it shuts off every one after it.
- Trying to stop the search it responds to. That card has already been added; Droll stops the next ones.
- Forgetting it locks you too. Neither player can add from the Main Deck for the rest of the turn.
- Using it in the Damage Step. Its FAQ says it can't be activated then.
How it works
Droll & Lock Bird is a Quick Effect from your hand. If a card is added from the Main Deck to your opponent’s hand, except during the Draw Phase, you can send Droll from your hand to the GY. For the rest of that turn, no one can add cards from their Main Deck to their hand.
When to use it
Unlike Ash Blossom, Droll doesn’t negate anything. It lets the first search happen, then cuts off the rest of the turn’s searching. It’s strongest against decks that search several times in one turn.
Droll is Semi-Limited in the TCG as of October 2026, so you can play up to 2 copies.
