How it works

Sleepy Scapegoats is a Quick-Play Spell. Special Summon up to 4 “Sacrificial Sheep Tokens” (Beast/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position; they can’t be Tributed for a Tribute Summon this turn. Then, if your opponent controls a monster, you can Special Summon 1 “Swiftwind Panther Warrior” from your Deck. For the rest of the turn, you can’t Special Summon from the Extra Deck except Fusion Monsters.

Replacement: If a card you control that mentions “Dark Time Wizard” would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can destroy 1 Token summoned by this card instead.

Rulings in plain English

Activation: Not in the Damage Step. Tokens first; only if at least 1 was summoned and your opponent has a monster can you summon the Panther Warrior. Not simultaneous.

Restriction: Starts after it resolves and applies as long as it wasn’t negated, even if nothing was summoned.

Replacement: No chain; works in the Damage Step. In battle, you decide at damage calculation and destroy the Token after it. One Token can cover several cards destroyed at once by an effect, but not a Token that’s being destroyed at the same time.

“Mentions”: Means the card text names “Dark Time Wizard”.

Dark Time Wizard, Swiftwind Panther Warrior, Scapegoat.
