Maliss deck: banish-and-return Cyberse Links (October 2026)

How the Maliss deck works, an Arapiraca-winning decklist, recent TCG results and where this banish-themed Cyberse Link deck stands in October 2026.

RogueIntermediateAll Maliss cards

Maliss is a Cyberse Link deck whose monsters want to be banished: each one comes back or grabs a card when it leaves for the banishment. It won two regionals on the first weekend of the September 2026 list but did not make a top 8 in the first weekend with Beyond the Brave legal, so it is a rogue pick for now.

How the deck works

The Maliss monsters are all DARK Cyberse, and their second effect triggers when they are banished. Maliss

Chessy Cat, Maliss

White Rabbit and Maliss

Dormouse pay 300 LP to Special Summon themselves, which also limits your Extra Deck to Link Monsters for the rest of the turn. Maliss

March Hare pays 300 LP to add one of your banished Maliss monsters back to the hand.

Their first effects do the banishing. Chessy Cat banishes a Maliss card from your hand to draw two. Dormouse banishes a Maliss monster straight from the Deck. March Hare Special Summons itself from the hand during either Main Phase by banishing another Maliss card from your hand or GY. White Rabbit sets a Maliss Trap from the Deck when it is summoned.

The Traps keep the loop going. Maliss MTP-07 and Maliss TB-11 can be activated the turn they are Set by banishing a face-up Maliss monster, and that monster’s banished effect then brings it back. MTP-07 searches a Maliss monster and can banish a card on the field if you control a Maliss Link. TB-11 Special Summons a Maliss monster from the Deck, or a Maliss Link from the Extra Deck if your opponent controls three or more cards.

Maliss in Underground banishes a Maliss card when it is activated. Once three Maliss Traps with different names are banished, your Maliss Links gain 3000 ATK, and while you control a Maliss Link your opponent can only attack Maliss Links. The two Maliss Links are Maliss Red Ransom, which searches a Maliss Spell when summoned, and Maliss Hearts Crypter, which shuffles a banished Maliss card back to banish a card on the field at instant speed. Both pay LP to return when banished.

The @Ignister cards add more bodies. Backup @Ignister Special Summons itself if you control a Cyberse monster summoned from the Extra Deck, and when summoned it adds any DARK Cyberse monster from the Deck, which includes every Maliss monster. Wizard @Ignister summons itself together with a DARK Cyberse from the GY. Allure of Darkness and Gold Sarcophagus both banish cards, which can set off the Maliss banished effects. The deck ends on Link Monsters like Accesscode Talker, Allied Code Talker @Ignister and Firewall Dragon.

Maliss made eight regional top 8s before Beyond the Brave and none in the first weekend after it, from a small set of events.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths

  • The monsters return or replace themselves when banished, so trading one-for-one with them is hard.
  • Traps that can be activated the turn they are Set give it plays on the first turn without waiting.
  • The main-deck Maliss and @Ignister monsters are all DARK, which suits the Dominus Traps in this list.

Weaknesses

  • Key pieces are restricted: White Rabbit and Dormouse are Limited, and Maliss in Underground is Semi-Limited.
  • Each return costs LP (300 for the monsters, 900 for the Links), which adds up in long games.
  • The banished effects lock your Extra Deck to Link Monsters for the turn, so the deck has few ways to change plans mid-combo.
  • The draw and search effects on Chessy Cat and Backup @Ignister can be stopped by common hand traps.

What to watch

  • Maliss had no top 8s in the first Beyond the Brave weekend. YCS Houston (October 16-18) will show whether it still has a place.
  • Toon support arrives with Magnificent Maestros in mid-November and is expected to change the format.
