Yummy deck: LIGHT Beast Synchros with Dark Magician (October 2026)

Yummy pairs its Level 2 Synchro loop with Dark Magician and Azamina. How it works, the Curitiba winning list and recent TCG results.

Tier 2AdvancedAll Yummy cards

Yummy is a LIGHT Beast Synchro engine that keeps recycling small monsters through Level 2 Synchro Tuners. Most competitive builds mix it with Dark Magician and Azamina cards for extra starters, which puts it close to the Light and Darkness Ritual pile. It has two regional wins since the September list, one of them at Curitiba on October 11 with Beyond the Brave legal.

How the deck works

Marshmao☆Yummy is the main starter. It Special Summons itself from the hand if you control no monsters, or only LIGHT Beasts, and when it is summoned it gets a Yummy Spell or Trap back from the GY. If a Synchro Monster’s effect summoned it, it places a Yummy Field Spell or Continuous Spell/Trap from the Deck instead.

Yummy★Snatchy is a Link-1 that needs only one Level 4 or lower LIGHT Beast. When it is summoned it places a Yummy Field Spell such as Yummyusment☆Mignon from the Deck, and during the Main Phase it can pay 100 LP to Synchro Summon right away using a Yummy monster. Controlling a Link-1 also lets Cupsy☆Yummy, Cooky☆Yummy and Lollipo☆Yummy Special Summon themselves from the hand, and Mignon revives a Level 1 Yummy from the GY.

The Synchro Monsters are three Level 2 Synchro Tuners. For their Synchro Summon, a Link-1 like Snatchy can be treated as a Level 1 Tuner, so Snatchy plus a Level 1 Yummy makes one of them.

All three share a Quick Effect: when the opponent activates a card or effect, the Synchro returns to the Extra Deck and Special Summons up to 2 Yummy monsters from your GY. Monsters summoned that way get their stronger effects. Cupsy draws a card, Cooky destroys a monster instead of shrinking it, Lollipo banishes a card from the opponent’s GY instead of shuffling it, and Marshmao places a Yummy Spell or Trap from the Deck.

Yummy☆Surprise is the main removal. It returns 2 of your LIGHT Beasts and 2 of the opponent’s cards to the hand, or it can Special Summon a Yummy monster from the hand or GY.

The Dark Magician side uses Dark Magical Curtain, which Special Summons a DARK Spellcaster from the hand or Deck and adds a Dark Magician Spell or Trap if that monster is Dark Magician. The Azamina side uses Diabellstar the Black Witch, WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils and The Hallowed Azamina. Both packages give the deck more ways to start a turn without a Yummy card in hand.

Strengths and weaknesses

Strengths

  • The Yummy Way Synchros return to the Extra Deck on the opponent’s turn and bring back two monsters, so the deck can rebuild mid-turn.
  • Dark Magician and Azamina add starters that do not need a Yummy card.
  • Yummy☆Surprise and Cooky★Yummy Way handle cards that are already on the field.

Weaknesses

  • The loop depends on the GY: Marshmao recovers from it and all three Yummy Way Synchros revive from it.
  • Marshmao only summons itself if you control no monsters or only LIGHT Beasts, which limits how it mixes with the other engines.
  • Several core pieces are Limited (Cupsy☆Yummy, Cupsy★Yummy Way and Yummy★Snatchy), so the engine has fewer redundant copies.

What to watch

  • YCS Houston (October 16-18) will show whether the Curitiba win was a sign of more to come after Beyond the Brave.
  • Builds keep shifting between Dark Magician, Azamina and Mitsurugi partners, so watch which version tops the next big events.
  • Magnificent Maestros brings new Toon support in mid-November.
